The University of Florida Levin College of Law is searching for an experienced, energetic and data-centric individual to fill the position of Assistant Dean for Admissions. The Assistant Dean of Admissions, reporting to the Dean of the College of Law, is the chief admissions officer for the College of Law and a member of the dean’s senior administrative leadership team. As the senior admissions and enrollment leader working closely with the Dean, he or she will have specific responsibilities for leading, managing, and directing law student recruitment based on data analytics.

Direct the operations of the Law School Admissions Office through collaboration with the professional admissions staff to evaluate candidate pool, make application decisions, and ensure communication of decisions in a timely manner to enroll qualified 1L, transfer, and visiting students.
Manage the admissions process for entering JD, transfer and visiting students; monitor the applicant and admitted pools to meet enrollment goals; render final admissions decisions.
Collect, analyze, and utilize data to inform strategies and decisions including all admissions recruitment and outreach programs.
Lead and build a strong, team-oriented staff for the office of admissions.
Collect, analyze and report recruitment and enrollment data; analyze demographic trends and other data to create short- and long-term recruitment plans and new policies.
Design and implement predictive modeling tools to strategically forecast admissions trends and yield.
Serve as the Office of Admissions’ liaison to various University offices, constituencies and the Law School faculty and staff. Develop and monitor the department budget. Work with the Associate Dean for Administrative and Fiscal Affairs to manage and oversee budget for Law School Admissions Office.
Develop scholarship strategy, program and policies; administer the scholarship program by evaluating applicants and making scholarship decisions.
Collaborate with faculty, students, alumni, and members of other administrative units at the College to coordinate and build involvement in the recruitment of applicants and enrollment of admitted students.

Develop/lead the marketing plan and strategies for the office of admissions; work with the Law School outreach and messaging staff to create and implement effective recruiting tools including print, web, and social media content.

Represent the Law School at forums, fairs, and individual speaking presentations throughout the state of Florida and nationwide. Travel required.
Interpret and administer existing admissions policies and develop new policies with the Admissions Committee, as needed.

INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE: Candidate should have a thorough understanding of the legal education marketplace and its recent changes as well as a demonstrated ability to adapt policies and best practices to suit the current market.

PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITIES: Candidate should have excellent problem solving capabilities, good judgment, high ethical standards, and the ability to see issues from different perspectives.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work successfully with diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to counsel students throughout the admissions process. Should possess strong public speaking skills.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS: Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong collaborative skills. Ability to train, mentor, coach and foster teamwork among staff members.

About the School:
The University of Florida, Levin College of Law, founded in 1909, offers a three-year, full-time program leading to a Juris Doctor degree. It also offers advanced law degrees, including LL.M. degree programs in taxation, international taxation, comparative law, land use and environmental law, in addition to an S.J.D. in taxation.
Its 2015 entering class consisted of 310 students, representing 71 undergraduate colleges. For the 2016-2017 admissions cycle, UF Law has received over 2500 applications. The credentials of the incoming Class of 2019 are projected to increase significantly compared to recent classes.

About the Position:
The Dean has made admissions a central focus of her efforts to build upon UF Law’s historic reputation and propel the Law School even further into the ranks of the top public law schools in the nation. To this end, the Dean and University administration have committed unprecedented resources to the Office of Admissions in the form of scholarships, staffing, and influence within the Law School community. The position is filled on an interim basis for the 2015-2016 academic year as we search for a permanent replacement, but that interim position is scheduled to end in July 2016.
