Anna Hicks-Jaco

Anna Hicks-Jaco has been with Spivey Consulting Group since 2013, and as President, she oversees all aspects of the firm’s admissions consulting operations. 

Experience & Education

In addition to her 12+ years in administration and operations with Spivey Consulting Group, Anna has partnered with numerous law schools as a consultant.

• She has consulted for over 25 law schools across the U.S.—including multiple top 20 schools—with a primary focus on admissions strategy.
• She served as Interim Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management at Syracuse University College of Law, where she led all aspects of the J.D. admissions process, reading files and rendering final decisions on thousands of applications.
• At the University of Florida Levin College of Law, she worked in data and research for the Office of Career and Professional Development and served on the Dean’s Leadership Council.

A passionate lifelong learner, Anna has always enjoyed being in the classroom.

• She earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Miami, magna cum laude, in 2015.
• She attended the University of Virginia School of Law as a Dillard full scholarship recipient, where she earned a GPA in the top 10% of her class before withdrawing to work with Spivey Consulting full-time.
• She completed a writing certificate from Stanford University Continuing Studies in 2026.

She is a co-author of The PowerScore/Spivey Consulting Law School Admissions Bible and a frequent host of the Status Check with Spivey podcast.

Personal Note

Before joining Spivey Consulting, Anna worked as a graphic designer, volleyball coach, LSAT tutor, and pickle company entrepreneur. She lives with her husband in Northern Virginia, where she enjoys reading and writing fiction, playing Dungeons & Dragons, performing in musical theatre, and creating vegan versions of her family’s Filipino food recipes.
