If anyone were to ask me to recommend a law school admissions consultant to work with, I would immediately recommend Paula Gluzman and Spivey Consulting Group. From day one, I felt listened to and cared for. Paula always made time for me even when her schedule was very busy. It's rare and special to have the opportunity to work with someone where you can honestly say that you only had positive interactions with them, and that is why I feel grateful and lucky to have worked with Paula. Applying to law school is a daunting, intricate process, and Paula made everything feel as seamless and manageable as possible. She kept me focused, on track, and had a strategy for how we would tackle each step of the process. I felt as though there was no question or challenge that I could present her where she did not have an answer or solution. One of the best parts of working with Paula is that she is an incredibly thoughtful person. You can feel that each email response and conversation is not a rehearsed or cookie cutter answer, but one that had a lot of thought and genuine care put into it. She was also great with keeping my expectations realistic and giving feedback that was productive to hear. Presenting myself to law schools in a way that felt authentic was very important to me. Through many brainstorming sessions, conversations, and countless revisions Paula was able to bring out most genuine voice and best work. When it came time to submit, I knew I could feel proud of my application regardless of any admissions result. Paula's support was constant even after I submitted my applications. Ultimately, I had outcomes that exceeded my numbers, and I believe that Paula is the reason why. Thank you, Paula, for such a wonderful experience.

Working with Shannon Bartlett was one of the best investments I made in my law school application process. She was responsive and specific in her feedback: not vague directives, but precise observations that pointed me toward what needed to change while leaving my voice and ideas fully intact. She knew each school's ethos well enough to help me identify which stories and threads to pull forward for a given application, and she could contextualize advice to my actual situation rather than offering generic guidance. Beyond the statements themselves, she proactively shared resources/articles based on my areas of interest and was quick to answer the kinds of questions that fall outside the scope of "editing" — the strategic, situational ones that matter just as much. I came away with stronger applications and a clearer sense of my own narrative.

Working with Kristen at Spivey Consulting was genuinely one of the most valuable parts of my law school admissions journey. From our first conversation, I could immediately tell how knowledgeable, strategic, and deeply invested she was in helping her clients succeed.

Kristen has an incredible ability to balance honesty with encouragement. She pushed me to approach the admissions process with far more clarity and confidence. When I was spiraling over my application timeline, she gave insightful feedback that helped me refocus and strategize properly. I went from feeling overwhelmed and scattered to actually feeling confident in my narrative

Her feedback, especially when assessing essays, was always helpful and valuable. She helped me strengthen my application materials in a way that still felt completely authentic to who I am.

Her insight into admissions strategy is outstanding, but just as importantly, she is incredibly kind, reassuring, and easy to talk to.

I am so grateful to have worked with Kristen and cannot recommend her and Spivey Consulting highly enough. Anyone working with her is truly in the best hands.

I highly recommend Spivey Consulting. Julia Truemper was incredibly attentive and thoughtful when reviewing all of my written work. She had great feedback, catching big and small errors, and offered helpful insight into what admissions offices want to see. Working with Julia alleviated an immense amount of stress, I cannot recommend her services enough. Any time I doubted my word choice, or additional sentence, she was readily available to respond to any and all questions. As an extreme over thinker, having someone to turn to with my anxiety filled thoughts was absolutely worth it! I am admitted to one my dream schools and Julia really helped make it happen.

Sam Parker has been a fantastic consultant, and I’m incredibly glad I had the opportunity to work with her.

From the very beginning, she brought a level of positivity and belief in me that made a big difference. The application process felt overwhelming since I was working a full time job. The support I received from Sam felt very genuine and concrete as I was able to build a high level of trust with her from the very start (so important!!!). It instilled confidence in me that turned out to be invaluable.

Sam is highly professional and exceptionally sharp in her work. Her edits are detailed and thoughtful, and she is always clear and direct about what works and what doesn’t. She is very good at combining clear strategic thinking with respect for my perspectives. One moment that stood out was when I was struggling with my HLS diversity essay. I felt that the theme was “too simple” and kept trying to layer in additional ideas to make it feel richer. We went through many iterations, and throughout that process, Sam was incredibly patient in walking me through why certain directions were stronger than others. She explained her reasoning clearly, sometimes multiple times, but always remained open to discussion and respectful of my perspective. At the same time, she was relentless in refining the essay at a very detailed level. By the end, I not only felt confident in the final version, but also understood exactly why it worked.

She is also extremely thoughtful about how to allocate time and effort across the application. For example, we only did one round of edits on my Stanford short answer because she recognized it was already strong, whereas she was more than willing to go through multiple rounds when an essay wasn’t quite there yet. She never wastes time but also never cuts corners. That balance made the entire process feel both efficient and rigorous, and I always felt like I was in very good hands.

In addition, I appreciated how transparent she was about her schedule and expectations, which made our collaboration feel seamless. She is also consistently responsive. As the application process is stressful and time-sensitive, knowing I could rely on timely and thorough feedback made everything much more manageable.

I came out of the cycle with results I couldn't have dreamed of. I got the privilege to choose between SLS and HLS and got into a few other T14s as well.

Other than the results, I learned so much from Sam. Not just about law school applications but how to be a good communicator and collaborator. I came out of this process with a much clearer understanding of how to tell my story and write essays in general. I couldn’t recommend Sam more highly—she is not only an exceptional consultant, but someone who genuinely brings out the best in her clients.

I worked with Kristen Mercado and had a great experience with Spivey. As a mid-career applicant, I didn’t have many people in my life I could bounce ideas off of or ask to look over my essays, so I really appreciated having a second opinion and an extra set of eyes on my applications before I submitted them. Kristen also helped course-correct me a few times when I was going in the wrong direction on a particular essay or application component, based on an admissions officer’s perspective, which I never would have thought of on my own. She was also very helpful in answering the random questions I had throughout the process, especially as unexpected issues came up. I can’t say for sure whether working with a consultant changed my results in the end, but at the very least, it made the process significantly more manageable, which for me was 100% worth it. I ended up getting accepted to three T-14s as a low-GPA/high-LSAT splitter, and I’m completely satisfied with my results.

Samantha was the absolute best consultant I could ever ask for. She was kind, helpful, and informative throughout the entire process. I was a reapplicant, and an extreme splitter. She helped me brainstorm and write an absolutely cohesive, polished, and intentional application. I couldn’t be more glad I used her and Spivey this year. After being rejected or waitlisted at all T14s last cycle, I now will be attending one this fall- WITH A SCHOLARSHIP!! Side note- I didn’t even have an LSAT score increase before reapplying. That just goes to show you how strong she was able to make my written materials. I can’t recommend her enough.

Articulating my experience collaborating with Spivey Consulting reveals certain challenges. I am the first person in my family to pursue higher education and was raised in a household with limited financial means. Despite initial hurdles, such as independently applying for the FAFSA due to unfamiliarity with the procedure, enrolling in a four-year university, and subsequently earning a graduate degree prior to considering law school, the entire law school application process, including the LSAT examination, was daunting and formidable.

The process of applying to law school significantly differs from that of other academic programs. The admissions procedure is rigorous due to its complex prerequisites, which include LSAT scores, comprehensive academic transcripts, and the demonstration of advanced soft skills through scholarly essays, letters of recommendation, and additional supporting documents.

Without the support of Spivey Consulting Group’s Pro Bono Program, I believe that my application, background, and nuanced experiences might have been overlooked by the admissions committees at various law schools. Through this program, I was paired with Ms. Paula Gluzman, an individual of exceptional qualities.

My previous interactions with Paula were numerous, and her role as my law school consultant greatly influenced how I recounted and articulated my story to substantiate my decision to pursue and attend law school. When I composed the various statements required by different law schools, it necessitated revisiting and exploring both positive and negative moments in my life, in order to illustrate to the admissions committee the character, growth, perseverance, and grit that led me to this point. Although these memories existed in my mind, it was challenging for me to articulate them clearly in writing.

This is where Paula offers substantial support, guidance, and mentorship. She listens attentively and provides sincere, nonjudgmental instructions. Such support is seldom available during the law school application process. Feelings of self-doubt, unworthiness, and occasional thoughts of surrender may arise; however, Paula remained steadfastly by my side. We devoted numerous hours to discussing every aspect of law school applications, as well as the psychological barriers that hindered me from expressing my authentic self in my writing. Paula demonstrates exceptional skill in writing, comprehending my experiences (an ability I am confident she shares with others she has assisted), and she consistently draws out my best qualities. Paula responds quickly, is highly communicative, and is readily available to address any questions and/or concerns. At a certain point during my application journey, I had to take a risk, step back, and inform Paula that, due to the recent passing of a loved one in my family, I needed to prioritize my well-being. I also communicated that law school might not be feasible for my future at that time.

I conveyed this information to Paula, expressing concerns that our collaboration could be discontinued and that my academic pursuit at law school might be prematurely concluded. Nonetheless, my apprehensions were met with kindness, compassion, and understanding, as Paula sincerely acknowledged my attributes as a candidate, an individual, and my potential—even in instances when I was unable to perceive it myself.

These are the qualities and experiences that Spivey Consulting brings to its work with students like me. Paula offers humor, warmth, and extensive knowledge throughout the law school application process, personalizing the experience alongside me. Paula was, and remains, supportive as I pursue my aspiration of attending law school, which has now become a reality. I look forward to completing and graduating from law school at the earliest opportunity!

I strongly encourage all students to consider applying for Spivey Consulting Group’s Pro Bono Program, which offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to collaborate with Paula and other consultants who dedicate their time, effort, and expertise to helping aspiring law students achieve their ambitions and find their purpose. It is initiatives such as Spivey’s and professionals like Paula that I am eternally grateful for. This is one reason why I actively support others through mentorship and dedicate my time to making law school more accessible and attainable for individuals aspiring to pursue a legal career.

Thank you once again, Paula and Spivey Consulting Group. Your contributions will always remain in my heart and are an integral part of my law school journey and subsequent endeavors.

Paula Gluzman was exceptional! Her knowledge of the law school admissions process is unmatched, and she truly took the time to get to know me and my story. The brainstorming process was incredibly helpful, and her feedback pushed me to present my best self. I especially appreciated her sharp eye for detail and the creativity she brought to an often rigid system. I am so grateful for her guidance and support — I couldn’t have navigated this process without her.

Getting the chance to work with Paul Rollins was the highlight of my law school application process. I felt as if Paul really got to know me, and he helped me get into the mindset of what admissions officers want to see. He ensured that I was putting my best foot forward, and I truly feel like I outperformed my stats thanks to his support. Paul helped me fine-tune all of my materials, and his feedback was always thoughtful, strategic, and (most importantly) fast. He was always available, consistently provided quick turnarounds, and gave me a lot of confidence throughout the process. Realistically, I couldn’t have asked for a better consultant.

[I appreciated] not only the application cycle support but the mentorship and reassurance throughout the process that I was/am good enough to be lawyer! As a first-gen high school graduate and college student, this past application cycle was incredibly difficult. I trusted Anna Hicks-Jaco completely, and never once did I feel that she wasn't rooting for me. It gave me a sense of hope and motivation that even when I didn't believe in myself, Anna still did. While the feedback on my applications materials were EXTREMELY helpful, the relationship I developed with Anna was the truly the real gift!

Sam Parker is the best. She was such an abundant source of uplifting positivity at HLS even before I began law school. And once I got to school, Sam’s care for students was plain for all to see — she stayed in touch, checked in, and went out of her way constantly to help everyone. She was probably the most liked member of the Admissions office by students and staff alike. She is incredibly insightful about the legal admissions world, and given her years of experience at HLS, clearly has her finger on the pulse of what admissions offices are looking for — especially now in our changing world and landscape. She is also, simply put, a wonderfully kind person. She sees the best in everyone and is fun, thoughtful, resourceful, and engaging. I have absolutely no doubts about Sam’s abilities as an effective communicator, and I am certain she will be an invaluable resource to her clients at Spivey, helping them craft their narratives and stories into beautifully constructed essays and interview answers. Sam has also read thousands of law school applications from the cream of the crop — that is a rare experience she will leverage in advising her clients. She is one of my very favorite people at HLS, and I can say with absolute confidence that if I were a student applying to law school right now and needed help leveling up my admissions work product, I would look no further than Sam. HLS’s tremendous loss is certainly Spivey's gain. She is the elite of elite — while also being disarmingly humble and charmingly kind. Work with Sam — you won’t regret it!
