I was referred to Spivey by a friend who insisted the company’s admissions consulting service is worth every penny. Though applying to law school can be quite stressful, Anne Dutia eased all of my concerns with her expertise and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. She did an outstanding job tailoring my essays, along with other parts of my application, to effectively highlight my strengths and tell my story. Needless to say, the service exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I was admitted to my top choice law school with a substantial scholarship. I am truly grateful for having the opportunity to work with Anne and will highly recommend Spivey’s services to anyone interested in applying to law school in the future.

I just wanted to let you know my grades came back this week: 179 (Crim) and 180 (Torts). Apparently the Torts exams were especially competitive this year, so I am particularly proud. I was also better able to apply your methods on that exam, so I think the result is indicative. There is work yet to do, but only 5 grades left until the end of 1L year! Thank you so much again for helping out. Your guidance clearly had an enormous impact on my work.

This course exceeded my expectations. Not only did I get drastically better at legal writing as the course progressed, but also I was able to use Patrick's extensive feedback on my assignments to develop a set of personally-tailored guidelines, which I plan to use as a sort of checklist from now on when I do any legal writing. I will enter law school much more familiar and comfortable with the demands of legal writing because of this course, and I expect that to be extremely valuable.

I am so excited right now! Just got my second semester grades back, and I went up from a 3.3 to a 3.8! I did really well on my issue spotter exams, in huge part because of what you taught me. Thank you so much!

It was great having your Pre-L course teach me how to brief cases, what the Socratic method is like, and how to effectively write. Now that I have started, I feel far ahead of my classmates. I think the best part was having someone to talk through things with, such as outlining and the craziness of law school.

So grateful for Joe Pollak’s wisdom and kindness as I navigated the stressful waitlist process. He didn’t pretend to have all the answers or a full diagnostic of what went wrong, all of which enhanced his credibility when he offered suggestions, edits, and tweaks. I wish I had hired him sooner.

As a splitter and non-traditional applicant, I completely credit my admission to three of the t6 schools to the work I did with my consultant, Joe Pollak. Coming into the cycle, I was confident that I would get a few admissions, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be admitted to both YLS and HLS. If you are a marginal candidate, this is the best investment you will make.

I’d like to extend my eternal thanks to Paula Gluzman for being my law school admissions fairy godmother! Paula made an incredibly challenging process much less painful. With Paula’s help I was accepted to multiple tier one law schools with merit scholarships during one of the most competitive law school admissions cycles in history. Working with her was the best decision I could’ve made, and I couldn’t be more grateful for all she did to get me there.

Even if I hadn’t gotten these results, I would still hire Paula again in a heartbeat for how much she helped me. What makes Paula so wonderful starts with the fact that she’s a genuinely lovely person. Paula’s warmth and positivity are matched by her intelligence, knack for strategy and years of experience – all these traits make her the perfect law school admissions consultant. When we first started working together I wasn’t sure if I wanted a whole package or a la carte assistance. Paula met me with kindness and flexibility.

I could immediately see she was the perfect fit for my needs and we proceeded with the full package. In particular, I’d like to highlight how Paula comes through for students from diverse, non-traditional backgrounds. While my LSAT score and undergraduate GPA were good, I had a sensitive issue that I didn’t quite know how to tackle in my applications. Paula jumped in with an expert strategy and helped me turn what I believed to be a weakness into a way to showcase my resilience. Paula brought empathy, wit, and expertise to every essay strategy session. I tend to have a clear vision for my writing, and I worried that this might present a challenge, but Paula deftly helped me refine my work.

Through a thoughtful and collaborative process, we successfully improved every piece of material in my applications. Paula is so talented at what she does that I even had fun editing with her! Paula was also very understanding and accommodating when I needed to schedule sessions around my rigid work schedule. She answered every one of my questions and emails in a timely manner and with great attention to detail. Hire Paula if you’re in search of the world’s most empathetic and brilliant law school admissions consultant! I promise you won’t regret it!

I worked with Joe Pollak this cycle and am incredibly pleased with my results and really appreciate that I had the opportunity to work with Joe. Joe was fantastic at every step of the way, from brainstorming personal statement ideas to interview preparation to scholarship negotiations (and re-negotiations, and re-renegotiations) and has always been kind, understanding, and responsive. I am by nature an anxious overthinker, and having Joe in my corner this cycle dramatically cut down my stress levels throughout a difficult cycle and allowed me to put my best foot forward in my essays and interviews. My results blew my expectations out of the water – I went into this cycle thinking if I could get a single T14 acceptance I’d be over the moon, and wound up with multiple T14 acceptances with six-figure scholarships. Being able to attend Columbia is a dream come true for me that I firmly believe wouldn’t have been possible without the support and admissions expertise of Joe and the Spivey team. Thank you so, so much and shout out to the Spivey team for the wonderful and impactful work that you all do!

I’m super excited to share that I was accepted to my target law school via their Binding Decision program, so my cycle is officially over and I’ll be going there this Fall! I cannot thank Emily Allen enough for all her help and kindness throughout this entire process. It feels surreal to even be sending this message–I’m so happy and I just wanted to express my deepest gratitude for all her direction and counsel. From our earliest discussions that formed my strategy going into this cycle, to all her insightful thoughts and ideas on my application pieces, it was all so invaluable for me, and made this third admissions cycle of mine so much more focused, precise, wise, and ultimately successful. The past two days have been a whirlwind and a blessing and I would not be here without Emily.

Danielle Early / Spivey got me results wouldn’t have dreamed of! I was admitted to Harvard and Yale law schools with lowest quartile test scores and GPAs. I was an outside shot by many friendly estimates but Danielle polished up my application, help shaped the concepts of my essays, and framed me and my qualifications in the best possible light to earn those admissions. She was just phenomenal in sorting through a cloud of ideas to help me consolidate my life and thoughts into several different coherent essays. She also helped me gain admission to several top business schools’ MBA programs.

I am convinced she was the single most decisive factor in my admissions and I would not have been accepted without her help. Her patience and persistence over the last nine months cannot be overstated! Danielle saved me a lot of time and stress. Her expertise and insight into the mechanics of admissions generally and nuances of my schools specifically prevented hours of researching or scouring blogs and forums for unreliable information as well as endless speculation. She also saved me from reaching out to the schools directly with potentially distracting or even negative information. She also put a lot of things into perspective for me.

You’ll see in her client e-mails and her blog: she understands the stress of this experience and does a great job of addressing the natural doubts and anxiety of it. Danielle has superb school-specific knowledge – not just HLS (her previous employment) but she is dialed in to other applications and schools’ perspectives thanks to her years in the industry. She can also tap into Spivey’s deep bench which helped me a few times. She also has solid process knowledge that’s universal across all law schools which I found useful for broader questions such as strategy, timing, and the long wait after submission.

Danielle is very client-oriented. She always responds within one business day, answers every question thoroughly, answers questions I didn’t think to ask, and provides clear and effective edits to my drafts. I said to myself a few times “I feel like I’m her only client!” because she responds quickly, completely, and with a good memory of the smallest aspects of my application. She is a great communicator: clear, direct, and precise. I’ve been out of school and in the military for a few years and found she was able to bridge that gap easily. Danielle gets us. She understands our careers, how we communicate, and how to work with a different type of client which was critical in building an effective relationship. She helped retrain my writing for a civilian audience, as well.

Highly recommended for any student but especially non-trad and military applicants.

Tom Robinson was a calming and grounding presence throughout what was otherwise a nerve-racking process. I would especially recommend him to people who are decently strong writers and have no clue how to narrow down ideas for their applications! I know this might annoy him because saying this in a public testimonial completely defeats the whole point of his persona, but I’ll say it anyway: he under-promises, and over-delivers.

I worked with Anne Dutia, and she helped me frame the narrative of my application in a way that was compelling and authentic. I was a splitter, but I was admitted at 11 of the 14 schools that I applied to, most within the T-14, and all with scholarships. I am very grateful for her advice and guidance, as I feel she helped me put my best foot forward on my application.

My friend’s referral to Danielle may well have made all the difference between getting into the school where I ended up (and with a scholarship that made it affordable) and not–along with plenty of very competitive backup options as well, including other T14 schools. I remain grateful for the expert insights and advice Danielle amply provided.

Working with Nicholas Everdell as my law school admissions consultant was truly a game changer! From the very first conversation, he explained the entire process clearly and broke down exactly what admissions committees are looking for in a compelling application. His expertise made me feel confident at every step, from crafting my personal statement to polishing my resume and preparing for interviews. Nicholas not only helped me present my best self but also eased the stress of applying to top law schools. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who feels lost or unsure in the admissions process—he’ll guide you to success just as he did for me!

Spivey Consulting is the BEST resource for anyone applying to law school and the BEST investment you can make in your legal career. I was fortunate to work Nicholas Everdell in the 2023-2024 cycle, one of the slowest cycles in history. He promised me that when I hit submit on my application that I would confidently say “I put my best application forward and there is nothing more that I can do, but wait.” That promise was kept and exceeded. Every panic text about how long I was waiting or concern about waitlists versus acceptances was met with compassion, empathy, and pure honesty. I will forever be indebted to the Spivey team and Nick, because they made the law school application process manageable, easy, and positive.

I loved working with Joe Pollak! I ended up applying slightly later in the application cycle with unique circumstances. Despite those difficulties, Joe was able to help me work out a strategy for each school and kept me fully appraised of what he heard was happening at law schools throughout the application cycle.

I loved my experience with Kevin Petty. He reviewed and helped me prepare every component of my applications to a dozen schools. I never felt rushed, and the individualized strategies/feedback Kevin provided greatly improved my materials. Kevin’s work ethic is unrivaled, with him sometimes working deep into the night to provide feedback as deadlines approached. His experience and insider knowledge allowed me to better tailor my applications for each school, and thanks to his tireless efforts, my cycle had terrific outcomes. Among these were an acceptance from a T6 where I was below both medians and an acceptance from my top choice, which I am now attending. Kevin even was a delight to talk to on a personal level–I looked forward to catching up with him every week. I cannot recommend him more highly.

Working with Spivey and Laura Wrobel was by far the best decision I made while applying to law school. Laura made what would have otherwise been a highly stressful process smoother than I could have imagined, and I am certain that I would not have gotten the results I did without her support. Laura helped me present the best version of myself. Our brainstorming sessions (along with her thoughtful and honest feedback) pushed my essays into a direction I would not have considered. More importantly, the constant communication and interview preparation gave me a rock solid grasp of why I wanted to pursue law, and how my diverse experiences shaped this pursuit.

This understanding and confidence resulted in some of the best interviews I’ve ever done. I was also very impressed by how quickly Laura responded, almost always within a few hours to one business day during the whole application cycle. Laura kept me on track with gentle reminders when I started procrastinating, and patiently answered all of anxiety fuelled questions, even when it was the third or fourth time I got stressed and wanted to double check things. Because of her help, I outperformed my expectations and received multiple T-14 acceptances despite being below the 25th percentiles for one of my stats. I’m thrilled to be attending my top choice this fall, and I will always be grateful for having had Laura’s expertise and support on my side throughout the admissions process. I would wholeheartedly recommend her (and Spivey as a whole) to anyone starting law school applications.

Paula’s guidance was invaluable. Although I am a confident writer and editor, her insight into what particular law schools were seeking, as well as her strategic vision for how to craft my story into a cohesive application made a world of difference. She is kind and patient beyond belief. I found her to be immensely grounding throughout the uncertainty that is applying to law school. Cannot recommend her enough!

I worked with Anne Dutia and it was a wonderful experience. I don’t know if this was done intentionally, but we have a similar ethnic background and overall that made me feel extremely understood throughout the whole process. During the consult call as well, I explained how I was struggling writing about a traumatic experience with tact in my essays. This experience played a big role in my “why law” and I felt my application would be incomplete without it. Anne Dutia assured me that not only were my experiences important to talk about, but also how my identity played a role as well.

She helped me write about this together in my essays and that truly was pivotal in my application coming together and my success this cycle. She was also extremely understanding of my busy schedule working at a title 1 inner-city school, where emergencies came up and I missed 2 of our appointments. She never made me feel bad and assured me she understood the struggles of hectic school environments, and that students always come first. Overall, working with Anne Dutia was an excellent experience. She is special and I hope you continue to reward her hard work, empathy, and professionalism.

I initially applied to my dream law school (NDLS) the year before and was rejected. However, with Shannon Davis’ help, I was accepted the following year and awarded a merit scholarship. Her guidance was instrumental in relieving the stress of the application process because I fully trusted her expertise. Shannon knew exactly what my dream school wanted. She helped me craft outstanding essays that truly showcased my identity and made me stand out. She helped me to highlight my background and work experience in the best light.

From our first phone call, Shannon provided a clear timeline for my application, and we adhered to it diligently. Her feedback was always prompt, and her insightful comments helped me understand when I was completely off the mark. After my acceptance, I sought Shannon’s help again for a scholarship application essay, and I received the scholarship as well. She was my secret weapon throughout the entire process, and working with her was a joy. Overall, she is a kind, thoughtful, and patient person who genuinely wants her clients to achieve their goals. I highly recommend Shannon if you’re serious about law school—her expertise offers a significant competitive advantage.
