I just wanted to let you know my grades came back this week: 179 (Crim) and 180 (Torts). Apparently the Torts exams were especially competitive this year, so I am particularly proud. This course exceeded my expectations. Not only did I get drastically better at legal writing as the course progressed, but also I was able to use Patrick's extensive feedback on my assignments to develop a set of personally-tailored guidelines, which I plan to use as a sort of checklist from now on when I do any legal writing. I will enter law school much more familiar and comfortable with the demands of legal writing because of this course, and I expect that to be extremely valuable.

I am so excited right now! Just got my second semester grades back, and I went up from a 3.3 to a 3.8! I did really well on my issue spotter exams, in huge part because of what you taught me. Thank you so much!

It was great having your Pre-L course teach me how to brief cases, what the Socratic method is like, and how to effectively write. Now that I have started, I feel far ahead of my classmates. I think the best part was having someone to talk through things with, such as outlining and the craziness of law school.

From the beginning of my law school application process, I knew that getting accepted into the T-14 would be an uphill battle. My GPA was below the 25th percentile at every school I applied to. My undergraduate application essays were mediocre at best - I had only gotten into one school. I had gotten a great LSAT score, but I needed to show law schools that I wasn't just good at taking tests. Like many super-splitters, I needed to provide substance to my application without coming off as a braggadocious automaton.

When I reached out to Spivey Consulting, they connected me with Nick Everdell. Nick has experience at the highest echelon of law school admissions - Columbia & Yale. This experience is evident in both his advice and his work ethic. Just an example: Nick and I worked on my personal statement for two months straight until we got it right - lots of other admissions companies would try to cycle you through as fast as possible. Nick understood that quality, authentic, and enjoyable essays are oftentimes the difference between acceptance and rejection.

My results for the historically difficult 2024-2025 law school admissions cycle are as follows:

• Four T-14 law school acceptances;
• Received over $1.1 million in total merit scholarships;
• And enrolled with a significant scholarship at the #1 ranked public law school in the country (UVA).

I equate Spivey Consulting to hiring a lawyer during a trial. Of course, you could always represent yourself in front of the judge (or admissions committee), but if you can swing good counsel, you should do it. If you have a weak point in your application - terrible transcript, C&F, shoddy work experience - put yourself at ease and call Spivey!

I originally went with Spivey because I am a super-splitter in my late 30s, so definitely not a typical candidate. The insider knowledge that the Spivey team provides was wonderful and reassuring throughout the application process, they have experience with everything, so nothing is new to them. More than anything though, Tom Robinson specifically made the package worth it. Here are a few examples of how he helped:

• His thoughtful feedback throughout the essay drafting process, information regarding specific schools and their proclivities, ie. when to write which 'why x' essay.
• Tom sent me random articles having to do with my essay topic as they came up, not always to use them but because he was genuinely interested.
• Tom was able to put me in touch with current students at several of the universities I applied to, so that I could learn more about them.
• Tom caught a number formatting issues before I clicked submit on my applications, things I just didn't see.
• Tom helped me draft a roster of schools that matched my goals, including safety schools, targets, and reaches.
• Tom helped me think through the admissions offers I received, waitlist options, etc.

I only worked with Tom, but I get the impression that the rest of the team is similarly qualified and attentive. I would recommend this for anyone that wants peace of mind and excellent counsel.

I was genuinely impressed by Rodia’s extensive knowledge of the law school application process right from the start. She has a unique approach to organizing the application timeline to make sure that each component is not only completed to the highest standards but also in a way that highlights my personality. No wonder that our efforts turned into multiple offers from top law schools.

After I got my LSAT score back last June, I wanted to start working on my law school applications but had no idea where to start.
