Peter Cramer, currently the Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, will join The Spivey Consulting Group in July as Senior Consultant and Director of LLM Consulting to launch our LLM Consulting service. In this capacity, Peter will also add invaluable insight to our entire team on all international applicants to law school. He will also be consulting with J.D. applicants based on his extensive relevant experience there.
Dr. Cramer started his law school career at Indiana University Maurer School of Law and later went to Georgetown University Law Center where he served as the Associate Director of the Center for Global Legal English. For the last nine years, Dr. Cramer has been working as the Assistant Dean for Graduate and International Students at Washington University School of Law, where he has focused primarily on admissions, course counseling, and instruction.
Trained in law in Germany, Dr. Cramer went to the USA to receive a degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages); he earned a PhD in Language Education and also received an LLM. Dr. Cramer is a recognized specialist in Legal English. He developed the first 2-Year LLM program in the US at Georgetown and a similar program at WashU. He also has co-authored a book on drafting contracts in Legal English (a page turner). Dr. Cramer has also taught classes at Harvard, Cairo University, and Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan. Over the course of his work at various law schools, Dr. Cramer has gone over thousands of applications of JD, LLM, JSD, and MLS students.
Spivey Consulting will be getting one of the most experienced and well-regarded deans for LLM programs in the nation.
