Please note: the deadline to apply to the Spivey Consulting Group 2025-2026 Pro Bono Program is Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 11:59 PM PST. Thank you!

Spivey Consulting Group firmly supports equitable access and diverse representation in legal education, and in 2025, this responsibility is more important than ever. Our Pro Bono Program, along with our commitment to providing the best free law school admissions content, advice, and resources available, stems from this value and mission.

As a part of this ongoing commitment, we are excited to announce the fifth year of our annual Spivey Consulting Group Pro Bono Program for the 2025-2026 admissions cycle! This program provides free law school admissions consulting services to a limited number of selected applicants from low-income, disadvantaged, marginalized, underrepresented, and/or diverse backgrounds.

What services are provided to selected Pro Bono Program recipients?

Selected applicants will work with one of our Spivey consultants one-on-one to prepare one full law school application for the 2025-2026 admissions cycle. The following services are included for one school:

  • Full strategic advising and editing of the core application components:
    • Personal statement strategy, ideation, review, and editing
    • Resume strategy, review, and editing
    • Addendum (e.g., GPA, LSAT, character and fitness, resume gap) strategy, review, and editing
  • Application review and editing for one law school, including the following:
    • Supplemental essay strategy, ideation, review, and editing
    • Application form advising and strategy
    • Final review of full application preview
  • General strategic advising in relation to the law school application process, up through the point of application submission, including the following:
    • Interview preparation
    • Email correspondence editing
    • Strategic preparation for meetings with admissions officers, visits to law schools, info sessions, or other interactions with the admissions office, as applicable

Who is eligible to apply to the Pro Bono Program, and what are the selection criteria?

This year, we will be selecting 28 applicants for the Pro Bono Program. Applicants who are committed to applying to law school for the 2025-2026 cycle and who come from low-income, disadvantaged, marginalized, underrepresented, and/or diverse backgrounds are welcome to apply. The opportunity is open to both domestic and international applicants.

Please note that we accept applicants from a diverse array of backgrounds, perspectives, and goals. No applicants are ineligible due to identity, numerical qualifications, or target law schools.

Applicants who fulfill both of the below are eligible to apply:

  • Fully committed to applying to law school for the 2025-2026 admissions cycle and matriculating to law school in fall 2026
  • Come from a low-income, disadvantaged, marginalized, underrepresented, and/or diverse background

Selections are made based on the following criteria:

  • Does the applicant have significant financial need such that they would be unable to access Spivey Consulting Group’s services without the Pro Bono Program?
  • How would the applicant’s perspective coming from a low-income, disadvantaged, marginalized, underrepresented, and/or diverse background contribute to the diversity of the legal profession?
  • How well does the application reflect the applicant’s purpose, thoughtfulness, and commitment?
  • How significant an impact could Spivey Consulting Group’s services make on the applicant’s ability to reach their stated goals?

Please note that there is a preference for applicants who already have one or more LSAT scores on file or who are registered for the August 2025 LSAT. However, we understand that that is not everyone’s timeline, and we very much encourage you to apply even if you will not have an LSAT score by August.

We do not evaluate applicants based on the relative competitiveness of their law school profiles.
